Private Owner - Habitat Restoration
Project Highlights
- Designed Habitat Restoration Plan Emphasizing Erosion Control and Aesthetic Enjoyment for Wetland and Pasture Areas
- Provided Annual Monitoring and Report Preparation to Ensure WDNR Compliance
Summary
NRC and NRC Restorations, LLC (NRCR) were retained by Mr. Tom Gasman to design a habitat restoration and management plan per WDNR recommendations for lands surrounding constructed ponds in Waupaca County. NRCR developed a re-vegetation plan that emphasized erosion control and native landscape restoration while integrating aesthetic qualities including scenic enhancement and wildlife enjoyment. After WDNR approval, NRCR commenced restoration activities and pre-treated the site with chemical applications to control invasive species prior to planting 6.4 acres of wet prairie and 12.5 acres of pasture. NRCR continues to monitor the restoration progress of the area, conducting biannual vegetation surveys and completing annual monitoring reports summarizing re-vegetation progress and native species establishment.
